Isabella Lopez

Isabella is the second oldest of four children to Goyo and Blasita Lopez. Goyo has served as a member of the Border Olympics Board of Directors for 20 years and served as President from 2007 - 2009. As a Senior at J.W. Nixon High School and the Vidal M. Treviño School of Communication and Fine Arts, Isabella A. Lopez is ranked 7th in her class and plans to pursue a degree in Musical Performance. Isabella is a three-time Texas Music Educator Association (TMEA) All-State Soprano 1. She is also the recipient of a number of state-wide distinctions including UIL State Solo and Ensemble rating of 1 and Outstanding Solo in Vocal Performance for the past 3-years. In addition, as a junior, she was named a National Semi-Finalist by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) in the classical repertoire category. Furthermore, Isabella is an accomplished thespian and filmmaker. She has garnered numerous accolades for her performances in UIL's One Act Play as well as the Laredo Theatre Guild International (LTGI). Isabella earned a state championship with Nixon High School's submission to UIL Film about the challenges of a deaf student in a school shooting. In her spare time, Isabella performs at numerous civic events and at her church. Her dream is to study classical music and become a professional opera vocalist.
